Only a few days ago I was moaning that I didn't have the resources to afford such a trip but then I thought, fuck it! It's my last free summer before entering the busy world of full time work; I NEED to make the most of it. There's no point waiting for my mates/sister to make their minds up about joining me, I want to go and see the world (well, Europe to start) and I don't care if i need to go it alone.
So i spent last night planning out my dream travel route (featuring Rome, Venice, Prague and Austria) and decided to head to STA travel today to buy a nice wee interrail pass. That was my intended purchase. Instead, i spent far too much money booking myself onto what looks like the best trip I'll make for ages.
This is the most expensive impulse buy EVER but i don't doubt I'll live to regret it.
I leave in just over a week on the Contiki European Whirl trip. An 18 day, 9 country trip including some meals and wee excursions (with more you can do when your there for more pennies.) All based on coaches which kinda ruins my interrailling dreams but to be fair, i feel far safer going on an organised trip for my first time travelling alone and it looks amazing!
I'm so so so excited and starting to stress about packing, but lucky for me this thing called the Interwebs has plenty of tips and tricks from seasoned Contiki-ers to help me out :)
Off to the Wickerman festival this weekend to chill before what will be a hectic few weeks of packing, then travelling, then packing some more, then moving to London (still no flat, argh.) I love the busyness & am so glad i've decided to do this :)
No doubt i wont shut up about it until at least Xmas... ;)

How was the Wicker Man festival? I'd love to go to that! My favourite film. (1973 obviously - not the Cage crapness)
